Edmonton Catholic Schools offers many additional programs to support newcomers and students looking to take classes in a different format.

This can be especially helpful if a studnet needs classes to work around their own schedule.

What should you know about Alternative Education?

What is it?

The Edmonton Catholic School system offers several alternative education options. This allows students to take classes on their own time, through one of the following:

Part-time classes
- Called PASS (Part-Time Alternative Self-Paced School)
- Allows students to complete high school courses at their own pace, run after regular school hours
- Students get individual support from teachers throughout their course
- All assessments are completed in person
Dual credit classes
- Earn high school and post-secondary credit in one class

Prerequisites & Elegibility

Intended for high schools students. Classes require a passing grade in the prerequisite to that class (for example, you would need to pass Science 10 before going into Science 20)

Additional Supports
